King Saah - Co-founder
King was born in Liberia, West Africa, and at the tender age of four, he was forced to migrate to Côte d'Ivoire due to the brutal civil war that ravaged his homeland. It was in the dusty, makeshift fields of Danané that King began to hone his skills in soccer, developing a deep passion for the sport that would shape his future.
In 1999, King took a significant step in his journey by migrating to the United States. He attended The Episcopal Academy, where he excelled on the varsity soccer team for four years. His talent and dedication earned him a spot on the college soccer team at Cabrini University, where he not only played competitively but also helped lead his team to two league championships.
After graduating, King sought to give back to the community by volunteering in South Africa for a year. This experience further broadened his understanding of different cultures and deepened his commitment to using soccer as a tool for empowerment. Upon his return to the United States, King took on the role of head coach at the Phelps School, where he led the boys' varsity team to three championships, showcasing his ability to inspire and develop young athletes.
Throughout his coaching career, King has also contributed his expertise to organizations such as the Lower Merion Soccer Club, Greater Chester Valley Sports Association, Nether United Soccer Club, and The Shipley School. Additionally, he launched the Street Soccer USA Philadelphia program, growing it from zero participants to over 600 and building multiple fields in underserved communities throughout Philadelphia.
A passionate fan of AC Milan, King firmly believes it is the greatest club in history. He dedicates his Saturday and Sunday mornings to watching their matches, immersing himself in the excitement of the game. When he isn't playing or coaching, King enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, embodying his belief in globalization and considering himself a globalist.
King holds a Master's degree in Globalization and Development Communication from Temple University and is a Huel D. Perkins Fellow at Louisiana State University. He is also a recipient of a UNHCR grant, which underscores his commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of young athletes and underserved communities. His diverse experiences and dedication to soccer not only reflect his personal journey but also his mission to empower others through the sport.
